I was so excited to have the opportunity recently to take a trip out to Mount Dora! Karen Hillman had bought one of my dress forms at the event, and I told her since it was only a little over an hour away, that I would love to take a trip out there to drop it off.
She told me about this darling tea room we could visit for lunch, and so I made reservations.
I arrived at "Karen's Cozy Cottage" and from there it was only walking distance to the tea room and shopping area. Karen's cottage was so adorable! I was so happy to see it! The location was perfect!
The tea room was beautiful beyond words! There where many different rooms. My favorite was one of the rooms that had been decorated with lots of lovely vintage furniture and findings in soft white and cream colors. The ceiling was painted like a sky, and there where pretty sparkly lights, and crystals everywhere.
The ceiling was stunning adored with lovely fabric that was so pretty with the sun shinning through.
Every corner, every where you looked was just so very lovely!
Karen and I where running around everywhere! Snapping photos here and there, it was so hard to actually stop to sit down and enjoy our lunch! But eventually we did and it was so very YUMMY! The scones with devonshire cream where so melt in your mouth delicious! After lunch we continued to explore and snap pictures of all the beautiful things.
I really wish I could have taken this lovely dress home with me!
This cozy little spot for tea was so dreamy!
This room had dimmer lighting, with lots of pretty white lights. I just loved the pretty white gowns.
They had the most beautiful lace hanging in the window.
There was also another large room that had a sweet spring garden feel to it.
Petticoats hanging on cloths line surrounded by flowers?! Seriously! Who would not love that! So soft and feminine!
And of course I LOVED this corner of the room, and so did Karen. te hehe
We had so much fun! It was so VERY VERY lovely! The whole town was ADORABLE! So many sweet cute shops! I can't wait to go again soon!
Speaking of going again soon . . . . Karen is in the works of dreaming up "An Artful Tea" and is interested in me maybe teaching or offering a project! And when I say SOON, I seriously mean soon. So I am crossing my fingers! Keep an eye out for more details.
If you are ever in Mount Dora, please, PLEASE do not pass an opportunity to visit "The Garden Gate Tea Room"! Trust me you won't regret it!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget you still have time to enter my Spring Giveaway!

What a stunning environment to take tea in. There is nothing more relaxing than taking time in beautiful surroundings to pause and enjoy the moment - and the tea of course!
Also - your ruffled cardigan/wrap is just fabulous, so simple and chic!
I found your Blogger blog a couple of days ago and could not believe I had never stumbled upon it before. Blog Land is miraculous!

Cassandra, Mom and Lilly and I visited "The Garden Gate" while we were in Mt. Dora this weekend. Thanks for the recommendation. It was absolutely beautiful just as you said. I can't wait to share pictures of Lilly with you. She sipped her lemonade out of a china tea cup while wearing the most adorable vintage hat. We had a blast!

Hi Cassandra, Thank you for sharing this wonderful place with us! I can very well understand that you had a hard time sitting down and having lunch when there is so much to discover, even though the food looks so delicious. I wish we would have such a charming tea room here.
Have a lovely Sunday!
Hugs,
Julia
