Oh my goodness, OH MY GOODNESS! I have been desperately wanting to get down to the flea market for almost a month now and it has not worked out. I jumped out of bed today so thrilled to finally be on my way!
Boy it was well worth the wait! It is Hot hOt HOT out, and this time of year it is typically slow. So I knew there would not be as many booths. But it did not matter because I knew at the least I could get some vintage jewelry.
I normally find all my lace deals at Mount Dora, and not at Webster, but I crossed my fingers and hoped to find some deals. Well . . . boy did I luck out! I actually am going to have to share my loot in two post. One on lace and one on jewelry.
So I am walking around about to head home and was doing a quick scan over the last few booths looking for a small chance I might find some lace. I have been really wanting to get my hands on some lately, but figured that since the market was slow that I might only be able to get my usual vintage jewelry this trip.
I spotted a good sized box full of lace! It was about the size of a mans shoe box. Inside was beautiful LACE and lots of it! The lady at the booth sold it to me for a ridiculously low price! I quickly headed back to my car before she realized she made a dumb move lol.
I think she might lay awake tonight thinkin how she should have asked for more. She surely acted odd after I quickly jumped on the box (not literally, but still) when she told me the price.
She made a comment before I ran off (probably running through her head all the reasons why she should have asked for more) about there being some kinda note on the bottom of the box.
When I got home I took a look. Here is what it said:
Some of the lace was on a card that looked old. It said something about a company. Not too sure if it means anything about who made some of it or not.
When I got home a slowly admired every piece. I was amazed at all the beautiful pieces. There where so many unique pieces I decided to take lots and lots and LOTS of photos.
I hope you don't mind. Out of everything in the box, there was only two pieces I did not care for, but even at that I am sure I will find something to use it on and love it when it's done (below).
This one is my absolute favorite!
I am just thrilled with my finds and can't wait to create with them! Prior to doing this post I stumbled on this:
How exciting! Hopefully I can use some of my lace on this swap! Jill has a unbelievably lovely blog called Gypsy Brocante full of beautiful inspiration and lovely rosettes. Come join us! You can read about the swap by clicking the above button.
I hope you don't mind all the lace photos. I will post my vintage jewelry findings in the next post.
Thanks so much for stopping by to visit!

oh you scored, thats for sure! but they can be happy at least that someone who appreciates the history and workmanship ended up with that box, and not some guy who it was handed down to who probably thought it was rubbish and threw it out!looking forward to checking out the jewellery finds!!

What a WONDERFUL find! Such beautiful pieces. Last year at the Nashville flea market I found a great deal on a walmart bag FULL of antique lace. I was so excited! It was the end of the day, most of my cash was gone and I was dead tired, but I had to have it..w/out evening looking through the whole bag. I borrowed what cash my girls had left too and away we went. I was amazed at some of the pieces in that bag. REALLY old pieces, probably valued at a couple hundred dollars for like $25. I love finds like that!Congrats on yours!Cerri xo
