Today is the reveal of the Spring Bead Swap! I had so much fun with this swap! My partner was Diana. The purpose of this swap was to send a focal piece and 20 coordinating beads and then to design a piece of jewelry out of what you received. We where all paired up with artist who create things different from what we would normally do. What a great challenge!
Here is what Diana sent me.I did lots of research for inspiration, I wanted to take the opportunity to take full advantage of trying something new. I also went on a little shopping spree at Michael's to purchase a few more pieces for inspiration. Once I had a head full of ideas to try I started to work on these pendents. I am calling them the "Junk Market Friends" lol. I thought they would go just perfect.

But, once it came down to creating the piece, inspiration took me elsewhere. BUT I was so glad I made these pendants, because it allowed me to try something new. And I loved it! They opened up a whole new world of soldering possibilities for me.

Above is a photo of what I decided on. It is a layered necklace. I have been enjoying these lately. It is not the direction I was planning on going, BUT I am very happy with it. There where just too many things I wanted to use, and to add the pendant on top of all of it was just too much!

I was able to use almost everything that Diana sent me. I think just one bead, and the pretty silk was the only thing not included. I know I will be using the silk on something else though in the future.

Thanks so much Sarah for hosting this unique fun swap, and thanks Diana for being such a sweet swap partner! I learned so many new things, and have so many more on my list to try. HAHA The rusty props are courtesy of my father n law who is obsessed with purchasing very old cars. I guess today though I did not mind it so much. :)

Cassandra I never would have thought to use the beads in that manner. I love it! Its so different and outside the box from what I would have done. And are those some Industrial Chic pieces in there?
