We just got in from our little island paradise vacation. My husbands sister was so kind, and invited us to stay with her in Sanibel. We live about 3 hours away and thought it would be a nice little vacation. We stayed in a vacation home on Captiva Island. The place was called South Seas Island Resort, and boy was it BEAUTIFUL! We had a pool, hot tub, and access right to the beach. The view was stunning! I loved how open the house was, and you could see the beach right from the pool. Dylan just LOVED it!
The first day we went to a cute little 50's style dinner at the resort. We had pizza. On the way over to the restaurant we saw a manatee, which was really neat. The vegetation on the island was stunning! I am not a big fan of palm trees, but I really enjoyed looking at all the other plants and lush greens. We went for a swim and after Dylan made laps around the large open beach home inside. It was so great to be able to spend some time with family.
(My husband, Dylan, Me, and my niece)
The second day we spent most of our time in the water and at the beach. Dylan was so cute exploring the beach and picking up shells. His little hands would be full. Once he had two good hands full he would start to examine them, and let go of some and keep others. It was nice to just relax and not worry about much of anything. When we were not in the pool I enjoyed making some ribbon flowers. This too was very calming.
The third day we went to breakfast at a small place called "The Island Cow". From the road it just looked like a little shack, but it was always so busy. We thought we would give it a shot. IT WAS WONDERFUL! I had waffles with blueberries and strawberries. They were so very yummy! After that we went shopping at a plaza that was called periwinkle something. It was very neat. Nothing too far from the normal, BUT the last shop I went to was the most amazing thing! The store looked like it was stocked full just for me! It was full of colorful whimsical art and art dolls! There was amazing jewelry creations just like I enjoy, whimsical figurines of mermaids riding sea horses in soft blue and pink colors adored with glitter and curly pink feathers. There were stunning fairy art dolls, art journals, Victorian note cards, collage art canvases, and so much more! Looking back I wish I took photos. My favorite item was a large art doll that was a mad hatter looking bunny that was dressed in whimsical cloths. It was all pastel and very sparkly. But it was well over $100 and my husband would have killed me if I bought it lol.
The last day my husbands mother and father drove up to spend the day with us. That morning it STORMED! I wanted so bad to go to the beach to get photos of the waves, but everyone said I was crazy and needed to stay inside. Darn it all. So I took photos from the balcony. Once everything cleared we went to the beach to find shells. I did so good about not getting burned until the last day. Because it rained it was cloudy out, so my husband said we should not need any sunscreen. Well lol let's just say I probably should NOT have listened to him.
We got home late yesterday and I was amazed at the pile of packages I came home to! It was like Christmas. I was so excited that one of the packages was my charm bracelet! We did a Marie charm bracelet round robin on the site and it finally made it's way home to me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
I am posting a few photos of my vacation, the flowers I made, and my charm bracelet. Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting me.

Glad you enjoyed your holiday. I have actualy been to Sanibel! We went to Florida for our honeymoon way back in 1988 and the second week was spent on Sanibel. I loved the shell beaches and the peace there. I expect it has changed in 20 years but it still looks lovely.Love the flowers you made - they are beautiful and the charm bracelet too.
