I had a chance to talk to someone today about HOW ON EARTH do you have more than one child without going crazy with worry. She gave me a great piece of advice I have never heard. She said just ignore all your housework and laundry and when you have a free moment find an activity like knitting, or beading that requires tedious repetition. She said to do that activity anytime you are not having to be with your child. She said you will find that it gives your mind the break it needs to keep focused and functional, and then when your baby needs you, your mind with have a clean slate to start with. She said to just do this when I start to feel like I am spiraling down and repeat the activity until everything is in the clear. This was actually my weight loss Dr. that recommended this from experience. She had no clue I enjoy any type of art.
Beading and ribbon work have seemed to be very soothing to me so far, but I had no clue to think to try to focus on them this past few weeks. I was more concerned about all the housework that needed to be done, and spent most the day pacing and watching Dylan sleep. NOW I KNOW! I will be sure to try this next time. I did have a jewelry piece that I started to work on a bit here and there about 3 weeks ago. I have finished it and added it to my Etsy shop just now. Thanks again to everyone for your thoughts. I will be working on trying to get everything caught up this weekend.

Hugs! i just read the past few posts and wow! HUGS!

Wonderful news! So glad your child and cat are recovering. The advice you received about housework and hobbies is very good. I have 3 children and 3 grandchildren, and I wish someone had told me that when mine were toddlers!Your necklace is super fab! How did you link all those components together?

Hi, ditto to what everyone else has said. I remember when my little son was the very same, listless in his cot, it was frightening as he was a very very active baby oh and still is now.He would not take liquids, so to keep him hydrated the only thing we could think of was Coco cola, so we let him take the baby bottle of coke instead of water and sure enough he took a sip and then more and slowly started to perk up.Now am not putting this great recovery on to coco cola but ... in the Victorian times coco cola was a medicinal treatment that salesmen used to take around the country. Well you never know do you. :0)))best wishes Ginny

Oh, Thank goodness!!! I think that the bad times are to make us truly appreciate and cherish the good ones. I also heard something similar about housework when I was in my first lamaze class. Our wonderful instructor said that the dirt would always be there and that those precious moments were just going to fly away. (At least thats the excuse I use when my house is a disaster! LOL)Oh, I am sooooo glad everything is looking up. Im a worrier and Ive been worrying about you guys so much. whew!! One less thing to worry about. Enjoy your playful baby and kitty.
